I live in NYC, and I’m broke

Ever since I can remember, I wanted to live in New York City.

At the age of twelve, my parents took me to seeĀ Cats on Broadway. Since it was the Christmas season, we visited the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. I stood pressed against the concrete divider of the ice rink, propping myself on my elbows to watch the skaters below. The General Electric building stretched to infinity above me. The lights, the people… when you’re twelve, it’s otherworldly. Continue reading
